High-Temperature Gas Reservoir Analysis - Germany
Arcus Engineering carried out finite element structural analysis and connection verification for an industrial gas reservoir operating under a combination of elevated temperature and internal pressure. The project required the structural response of 16Mo3 / 1.5415 material to be assessed at 520°C under an internal pressure of +110 mbar.
The reservoir's behaviour was influenced by both pressure loading and temperature-dependent material properties.
The numerical model therefore needed to represent the interaction between:
Arcus Engineering developed a detailed finite element model of the reservoir structure.
The analysis was used to evaluate the structural response under the defined operating conditions and verify the relevant components and connections.
The engineering assessment included:
The connections were assessed using forces obtained from the numerical model.
This ensured that the connection verification reflected the actual load transfer within the analysed structural system and the defined operating conditions.
Arcus Engineering provides advanced numerical analysis and connection verification for industrial structures exposed to temperature, pressure and complex operating loads.
